Before Love ... God

Before Love …God.

In the Holy Scriptures the first negative expression uttered by the Creator Himself is about man and his need to have someone to whom he might relate: “The LORD God said: "It is not good for the man to be alone." Genesis 2: 18 . It would be very interesting to notice that in the book of Genesis before Genesis 2:18, God always saw that all that he did were good. Thus said, God, the one who made man, was the first one to notice that this particular being is deadly in need of someone with whom he will partner. And, he didn’t let man alone to manage and search for a partner. After all, what could he have done? He had already been introduced to the word in which he came. He had even been assigned a tremendous task, the one of naming all the animals on earth! Imagine how much times it would have taken! Giving different names to all those animals starting perhaps from the most useless insect to the biggest animal in the World would probably be one of the toughest works in world. But the first man managed to do that and the Bible states that he didn’t find any of them which could be like him, as if he was searching within all the animals someone with whom he may live (Genesis 2:20). The Creator didn’t wait until the first man expresses his desire before He decided to act in his favor: “I will make a suitable partner for him “(Genesis 2: 18b). Let be curious enough to ask the Bible the contribution of man when God wanted to act. Can it answer? Yes! Let’s see what it has to say about that matter in Genesis 2:21-22 “So the LORD God cast a deep sleep on the man, and while he was asleep, he took out one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. The LORD God then built up into a woman the rib that he had taken from the man…” We can see that man was resting even if some might say it is a forced rest. He was in a deep sleep when God took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. This means that he would not know how woman appeared until after God revealed him the process. And even, the two verses that follow did not mention that man went to see the woman after he woke up. God himself brought her to him and love didn’t come until after that action of God! Adam was so happy that he became a poet he called her “Isha” in Hebrew, which is rendered in English language by “bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh”. Love will never come before or out of God’s initiative; else, it will be nothing less than a parody of love! Where do we then find true love? What is it about? How can one experience true love in this WORLD, Those are some questions we will try to answer in our next articles.
