I have been married for only about 36 months but I can tell you that I have already experienced some conflicts that I may consider difficult.
How do one solve this or that problem?
Here are two principles I believe husband and wife should use to resolve conflicts:
1- Be united against the conflict
When the two spouses were engaged, and even before that, each of them was living his or her life as he or she was taught life must be lived. Each of them has his or her principles. May be he or she has a seperate room were he or she used to arrange everything. As nobody was living with him or her, there was no problem. If there is any problem today, then it is because of the fact that they are together. But who decided them to be together? THE ANSWER IS "THEMSELVES". So, if husband and wife want to be together, they need to take the decision to fight the conflict together. I believe it is one of the best conflict resolving tips in a family If you let the problem alone and start fighting your partner, then the problem is the victor and it will end up by seperating you or at better, letting you grow apart one from the other.
2- Be open minded and trust your spouse.
Human's heart is very difficult but I think that if there was not a minimum of trust in the partner, the two would never decde to found a family together. In fact, Weither one is wedded at church or not, there have been one day in the life of the couple when you say one to the other "I will love and cherish you forever". And when one says that, it is wholeheartedly said. But some years later, we can see the same lovers lose confidence in their spouse. Here is what my wife and I call "The Gold rule": "We did not get married to harm each other". In fact, if we keep that in mind, we can see that conlfict solving wil be much more easier than we could think. If he or she does not intend to harm me then we can unite to fight the problem together and have peace in our family in order to "love one another forever".
The Bible is rignt when it says " Two are better than one: they get a good wage for their labor". Ecclesiastes 4:9
